How old do you have to be to get tattooed?

New York State law requires you to be at least 18 years of age to get tattooed, with or without parental consent. Proper, government issued ID is required – driver's license/permit, passport, etc. Your ID will be photocopied for our records.

Are the needles new?

Each needle is sterilized and single use only. Inks are poured into caps, which are thrown out after each customer. All surfaces (lights, cords, arm rests, etc.) are covered with non-porous plastic wrap. Counter tops are sprayed down after each customer with a germicidal disinfectant.

Do you need an appointment to get tattooed?

We accept walk-ins, however we recommended calling ahead for an appointment so you don't have to wait on busier days when we are all booked up.

Can I bring my own picture?

Most tattoos are custom, so we encourage all of our customers to bring in any pictures that would give our artists a better idea of what you have in mind for your new tattoo. Even if it is not exactly what you had in mind, we can work with you to come up with the perfect tattoo design that will fit you best.

How long does the new tattoo take to heal?

New tattoos can take up to two weeks to heal, sometimes longer, depending on it's placement, and how it's treated during the healing process. Please refer to the "Instructions" link for proper care and healing instructions.

Can I get my tattoo wet while it's healing?

It is very important that you wash your new tattoo especially the first couple days. When it begins to peel and flake, or scab you should refrain from touching it as much as you can. Avoid bathing in a tub, hot tubs and swimming at least for the first two weeks.

Can I shower after getting a new tattoo?

Showering is fine after getting new ink. Refer to the "Instructions" link for proper cleaning instructions. We do not recommend soaking in a bathtub, hot tub, or swimming for the first two weeks.

Can I go out in the sunshine?

For new tattoos, you should avoid sun exposure. It is harmful because your skin has lost part of it's protective epidermis, so if you expose a tattoo to sun, the sun burns your skin with nothing to stop it. If you are going to be outdoors and exposed to sunlight, be sure to cover your new tattoo with clothing or a dry bandage. Make sure to take the bandage off afterwards so your tattoo is able to breathe and heal faster.

Can tattoos be removed?

You shouldn't get a tattoo if imminent removal is on your mind. Almost every method of removal leaves some trace of scar tissue. The best method is laser removal in which a laser vaporizes the ink particles in the skin. We suggest looking into getting a cover up. Laser removal can sometimes require many sessions and the fees add up to 3-4 times to what a cover up would cost.
